MONKEY
ELEPHANTS

The elephants live in many remote places in Ghana, although near the Mole Lodge are accustomed to humans, allowing a close encounter.

The monkeys are revered by the community and therefore they are neither hunted nor killed. The sanctuaries have a cemetery where these monkeys are buried with special funerals.

Tafi Atome, is a traditional conservation area, home to  monkeys as they are regarded as gods and are protected by tradition.

Ghana has an estimated 1,000 species of butterflies. Butterflies are everywhere, but the Bobiri Forest Butterfly Sanctuary is a beautiful forest reserves with ancient trees that makes this amazing creature a specific attraction.

The antelope is one of the many medium-sized mammals holding the African food chain. The smaller solitary antelope tend to live in dense forested areas. The antelopes get their name from this specie ability to dive into the vegetation. Several species of antelope have adapted to living in the mountains and rocky outcrops, a few species of antelope have adapted to deserts (both hot and cold).
